Is the fish you buy supplied by Icelandic whalers?

fish and chipsThen you could be paying whalers to kill whales.

Iceland’s whaling and fishing industries are inextricably linked. For example, Iceland’s main fishing company, a major supplier of fish to the UK, Germany, and elsewhere is controlled by the owners of Iceland’s whaling  fleet.

If you buy fish supplied to your local supermarket, shop, work canteen, restaurant or fish and chip shop by an Icelandic company linked to whaling, you may unknowingly be helping whalers to kill these amazing creatures.

LET’S STOP THIS NOW
How? Simple.  Hit the whalers where it hurts – right in the wallet! By cutting off their income from fish sales we can deliver an economic blow to the whalers in Iceland, as well as helping to send a message to the Icelandic government that the public does not want to eat fish supplied by companies linked to whaling. We want to ensure that no fish eaten in the UK, Europe and the US comes from an Icelandic supplier involved in the whaling industry.
