Stop Whaling Campaign
Success for WDCS! Undercover film leads to removal of whale meat on sale at Iceland’s main airport
An undercover investigation into whale meat on sale at Iceland’s Keflavik airport, which prompted the UK Foreign Office to issue a warning to Britons who risk breaching international law, has led to the dramatic overnight removal of the meat from the airport’s Duty Free stores.

Visiting Iceland? Please don't eat the locals
Up to 40% of the meat from minke whales slaughtered in local Icelandic waters is eaten by visitors to the country, and this helps to keep the cruel industry afloat. Staggering isn’t it?
As part of our anti-whaling campaign WDCS is encouraging visitors to Iceland to avoid restaurants that serve whale meat and to go on a local whale watching trip instead.
Is the fish you buy supplied by Icelandic whalers?
There are currently 10,500 fish and chip shops in the UK - is yours supplying fish supplied by whalers? Join our campaign to stop fish connected with whaling being sold in the UK.
See our list of supermarkets and other outlets that have agreed not to sell this fish, as well as those companies who still do.

All about whaling
Japan, Iceland and Norway continue to kill hundreds of whales each year. WDCS is leading the fight to end whaling and attends the annual meetings of the International Whaling Commission to represent the whales and our supporters. Please support our campaign.
