Join our campaign to protect the unique and threatened Moray Firth dolphins.
Eight months after our protest was made, in November we finally received important news from the UK Government about their plans for oil and gas development that could threaten the survival of the Moray Firth dolphins.
Last year, the Government announced that it was likely to allow oil and gas development in a Special Area of Conservation designated for the protection of the dolphins. With the help of our supporters, and the backing of 25 of the world’s top experts, we made a strong protest that the oil and gas plans posed an unacceptable threat to these vulnerable dolphins.
The Government has now assured us that it will continue its consultation about these plans with stakeholders, including WDCS. This is a step in the right direction, which has bought some time for the campaign and the dolphins.
Thank you to all who have supported our campaign. You really have made a difference! But it is far from over. We must convince the Government that the dolphins should be protected. Learn more about our campaign and how you can help by clicking on the links below.
“We need as many people as possible to support WDCS and their campaign to protect these amazing animals for good!”
