Ethics Expert To Speak At Oxford University

Leading whale and dolphin ethics expert, Professor Thomas I. White, will be giving a talk at Oxford University on December 6th.

The talk is titled: "Dolphins: Personhood, Flourishing and Rights."

In Defense of Dolphins bookThomas I. White is the Conrad N. Hilton Professor in Business Ethics and Director of the Center for Ethics and Business at Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles, California, and author of In Defense of Dolphins: The New Moral Frontier (Blackwell Publishing, 2007).

Professor White is also a member of the 'Helsinki Group' who produced the Declaration of Rights for Cetaceans: Whales and Dolphins in 2010.

The talk will take place at 5pm on Thursday, December 6th in the Council Room at Mansfield College, Oxford. Admission is free and all are welcome.

The event is being organized by the Oxford University Animal Ethics Society, VERO (Voice for Ethical Research in Oxford) and WDC.
