WDC Advises On Humpback Stuck In Fiji Lagoon

WDC biologist, Cara Miller, is advising local people to stay clear of a humpback whale that has entered a lagoon near Dravuwalu in Fiji.

According to the Fiji Times, it is not the first time that a whale has entered the 10m deep lagoon. Despite efforts by locals to coax the whale out to deeper waters, it has so far stayed up.

Cara carries out research, outreach and educational work in the South Pacific, working with local communities. A second whale is thought to have already left the lagoon.
