Award For Icelandic Company With Links To Whaling
WDC notes with interest the recent award made to HB Grandi, one of Icelandís largest fishing companies which also has close links to whale hunting.
The Planning and Environmental Committee of the Icelandic town of Akranes made the award in recognition of the companyís tidy grounds. HB Grandi is, of course, linked with whaling in the form of board member Kristjan Loftsson, who is also managing director of the Icelandic whaling company, Hvalur. Indeed, the relationship could hardly be closer: HB Grandi rents out space at these premises to Hvalur for processing fin whales after they have been slaughtered.More on HB Grandi and Icelandic whaling
