Successful Summer For WDCS LA Research Team In Patagonia

Commerson's dolphin © Miguel IniguezThe research team from the WDCS LA office have had another excellent year in Patagonia, Argentina, where they have been studying southern right whales, Commerson's dolphins and Peale's dolphins.

Due to their preference for coastal waters, the dolphin species that inhabit the southernmost region of South America are extremely vulnerable to threats such as entanglement in fishing nets and pollution, while southern right whales are recovering from years of hunting by the whaling industry.
