Unless otherwise stated, events are free (donations gratefully received) with a variety of activities to suit all ages. All children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult. Please wear appropriate clothing to match weather conditions, respect the local wildlife and be prepared to have lots of fun!

June

Summer Fun Days
Every Saturday from 28th June to 30th August* (11am – 3:30pm)
*weather permitting
Join us here at Spey Bay for free drop-in sessions every Saturday throughout the summer.

Dolphin Watching – 11am-12noon
Look for the largest bottlenose dolphins in the world from the top of Shorewatch Hill.

Bug Hunting – 1pm-2pm
Discover what creepy crawlies and beautiful butterflies call Spey Bay home.

Den Building – 2:30pm-3:30pm
Head out on the shingle, build yourself an exciting den and make yourself king or queen of the fort!

Suitable for all ages, children must be accompanied by an adult.
Please wear appropriate clothing and footwear.

Spey Bay’s fantastic wildlife Kid’s club! New for summer 2014, will be a summer camp theme. £5 per child guarantees your child’s place for three Wednesday sessions over three weeks or a £10 option and your child will also receive a WDC t-shirt to remember their Summer 2014 at Spey Bay. Aimed at children aged 4-10. Children must be accompanied by an adult.  Booking is essential and early booking is recommended to avoid disappointment.  Themes are still to be confirmed, please call 01343 820 339 for more information.

Otter and Osprey Walk
Friday 11th July (7pm-9pm)
Summer is here, the ospreys have returned from their winter stay in Africa and the elusive otter may be spotted fishing in the River Spey.  Join us for a riverside ramble and discover more about these fabulous creatures and where to find them.
£2 per person. Booking is essential.  The walk is suitable for all ages, however children must be accompanied by an adult.  Please wear appropriate clothing and footwear.

Bird Watching for Beginners
Sunday 3rd August (2:15pm – 3:45pm)
With summer in full swing there are birds flying everywhere. Why not improve your birding skills and learn how to identify what is flying up above? Join our guide for an introductory walk to bird watching. Learn about the different birds which visit Spey Bay and some handy tips of how to spot and identify them.

£2 per person. Booking is essential. The walk is suitable for all ages; however children must be accompanied by an adult.

Please wear appropriate clothing and footwear. Bring binoculars if possible or alternatively hire them for free from the centre.

Pirate Day
Sunday 17th August (10:30am-4:30pm)

Shiver me timbers! It’s the last weekend before ye 6 weeks holidays ends so why not join in the mutiny at Spey Bay! Find ye loot on the treasure hunt, walk the plank or end up in Davy Jone’s Locker! Ye must dress like a pirate to enter ye best dressed competition! Why not sample the swashbuckler pirate cuisine in the café quarters!

Join in the fun at Spey Bay for an action packed day of pirate antics. No booking necessary. Children must be accompanied with an adult. To enter the best dressed competition you must arrive in fancy dress. Please call 01343 820339 for more details.

Twilight Walk
Friday 29th August (8pm-10pm)
As the sun sets, a mysterious world awakens; uncover the unknown with our guide on our Twilight Walk. Look for bats and moths, listen out for owls and lay in wait for other creatures of the night!
£2 per person. Booking is essential (please call before 4pm on the day of the walk). The walk is suitable for all ages, however children must be accompanied by an adult.
Please wear appropriate clothing and footwear and bring a torch and binoculars if possible.

Live Music at the Icehouse
Saturday 13th September (7:30pm-9:30pm)
Join us in the historic Tugnet Icehouse for an evening of live music entertainment. Bring your own bottle or enjoy tea and coffee served throughout the night.

Halloween
Saturday 25th October (6pm-7:30pm)
Ghastly ghouls, devilish demons and spooky spectres await you in the Icehouse.  There will be games, music, fancy dress and pumpkin soup so come along and join the fun!
£2 per child. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Booking is essential.
