Dolphin Diploma

Dolphin DiplomaA WDCS education initiative that encourages children to learn about whales and dolphins and to take an active part in their conservation.

WDCSs Diplomas are fun, curriculum-linked education packs teaching children about the world of whales and dolphins, whilst encouraging them to get actively involved in whale protection. Suitable for use in schools, within group (such as Brownies) and at home. The packs were aimed at 8-12 year olds but can be tailored to suit other ages (weve used it with 5-6 year olds!)

Originally launched in 2007 as part of the UN Year of the Dolphin initiative, the Dolphin Diploma is a UNESCO awarded project in the field of environmental education. To be awarded a certificate, children must prove their knowledge of dolphins and the threats they face by answering some quiz questions, and also participate in an activity to protect them such as participating in a beach clean or organizing an awareness raising event.
